Looking back on 2021

It may be almost February, but it’s never too late to take a moment and pause to reflect on the past year. 2021 was a whirlwind of consistently inconsistent schedules, feeding mouths, changing diapers, and working odd “mom” hours. We remodeled our kitchen, our baby turned one (and promptly turned into a toddler), traveled nowhere, said “that’s a no-no” more times than I can count, and soaked in the beauty of raising our little guy and watching him learn new things every day. Balancing work and mom life is no easy task, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Keep reading for some highlights of the year, lessons I learned and what I’m looking forward to in 2022.

highlights

While I may have worked fewer hours and spent significantly less time updating my website and Instagram in 2021, it somehow managed to be the biggest year ever for the business!

Including:

  • 19 new clients

  • 18 return / ongoing clients

what i learned

Keeping my Instagram feed perfect and up to date isn’t essential to my business. While I know it is crucial for many brands and businesses, I learned that simply having my account active with some recent-ish work displayed is plenty to bring in clients and point them to my website.

what brought joy

New clients with businesses that were SO fun to brand! I loved having the opportunity to work with such a wide variety of industries, styles, and personalities. And of course, hanging out with our little man everyday brings so much joy. I wouldn’t trade the crazy work/life balance for anything!

looking ahead

2022 is starting off with a bang by launching my brand new Braevin website! I partnered with Kelsey O’Halloran to hone in my brand voice and I spent the last few months using what she created for me to design the new website behind the scenes. I’m so thrilled with how it turned out!

Other than that, I have some new branding and website clients starting in February, a bunch of interior photo shoots on the calendar, and several park dates with my 16 month old to look forward to.
