The Edit: Winter 2020

Even with decorating before Thanksgiving this year, it still feels like the Christmas season went by way too fast. Regardless, I love the fresh start of a new year. Kicking off 2020 with a crisp planner, some fun new items, and motivation to start some rhythms while also keeping the good ones rolling from 2019. And with this season comes the Winter 2020 “PSLR + C” blog post (I’ll come up with an actual name for this series eventually…ideas welcomed). Cozy Pinterest vibes, current favorites to follow, new tunes, what’s on my bookshelf and a his + hers Christmas gift round up. Let’s dive in!

As always, a little style and home inspo thrown in with client project research. I’ve been loving the layered, moody, cozy vibes lately. And that rug in the top right may or may not have been ordered for our Master. (The 8’x10’ is only $145 right now…!!)

scrolling

I was intentionally spending less time scrolling, posting and hanging out on Instagram during the holiday season, but the time that was spent on there was usually watching these folks below.

  • @chrislovesjulia If they had a constant live stream of their current house projects, I would seriously watch it all day. They have been documenting their home renovation so beautifully and thoroughly, most days leaving my jaw on the floor. So inspired by their style and DIY spirit - makes me excited to dive into projects on our own home!

  • @mattigresham Daily laughs. Like, laugh out loud laughs. Matti shares about life, photography, motherhood, style, and health with such authenticity. She takes stunning interior photography (#goals) and her storytelling ability is epic (especially when she shares her experiences with how ridiculous humans can be).

  • @brepurposed Another home renovation go-to. I love Bre’s style and her determination to make spaces come to life in a beautiful, unique and dynamic way. Major DIY inspiration!

  • @thebucketlistfamily If you didn’t watch their 12+ days of Christmas travel surprise giveaways, what were you even doing in December?!

PODCASTS
Truthfully, I didn’t do much “podcasting” over the last couple months. More quiet. Less information flooding my brain. It gave me the ability to clear my head and focus on what needed to get done to wrap up 2019. Podcasts are a wonderful thing, but sometimes it can be a bit of “information overload”. But, I’m ready to dive into some new ones soon, so if you have recommendations, comment below!

MUSIC
On repeat in the office recently.

what’s currently on my bookshelf

Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams at Home
We have the Ice Cream Maker attachment for our KitchenAid, and every few months we make a fun seasonal flavor to keep on hand. This Fall we made a Pumpkin spice, and right before Christmas we made an insanely good peppermint with crushed candy cane. Excited to dive into this cookbook and pick a new flavor to try!

Becoming Us
I’m only halfway through and I can confidently say its the most insightful book on the Enneagram I’ve read so far! Game changer.

Remodelista: The Organized Home
Inspiration to simplify, organize and clean house this January!

Back Pocket Pasta
This book has been on my list for years. The photography is amazing, and the recipes look incredible. We brought some dry pasta home from Italy this past summer and we’re planning on picking a recipe from this book to make with it!
